برندگان رویداد The Game Awards 2020 اعلام شده‌اند و The Last of Us 2 موفق شده است که عنوان بهترین بازی سال را از آن خود کند.
علی‌رغم شرایط بی‌سابقه‌ی امسال به‌خاطر پاندمی کرونا، رویداد The Game Awards 2020 به شکل متفاوتی نسبت به گذشته برگزار شد و مثل همیشه مهیج‌ترین بخش این رویداد بخش اعلام برندگان آن است که امسال شاهد حضور پررنگ عناوین AAA نظیر The Last of Ust 2 ،Ghost of Tsushima و DOOM Eternal و آثار مستقل موفق مثل Hades ،Among Us و Fall Guys بوده‌ایم.
همان‌طور که گفته شد، The Last of Us 2 جایزه‌ی بهترین بازی سال را در رقابت با Animal Crossing: New Horizons ،DOOM Eternal ،Final Fantasy VII Remake ،Ghost of Tsushima و Hades به دست آورده است. The Last of Us 2 همچنین بیشترین جایزه را از آن خود کرده و در مجموع در ۷ بخش مختلف شامل بهترین کارگردانی، بهترین اجرا و نوآوری در دسترسی برنده شده است. این درحالی است که Hades برنده‌ی جایزه‌ی بهترین بازی مستقل شده و Half-Life: Alyx جایزه‌ی بهترین عنوان واقعیت مجازی/افزوده را کسب کرده است.
